    Doris Maxine Adams

    July 27, 1923 - June 22, 2016

    Doris Maxine Adams, 92 of Lexington, OH formerly of Huntington, W.Va. went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was born July 27, 1923 in Huntington, W.Va. the daughter of the late, Hobert “HA” Waugh and Ethel Jarvis Waugh. She was a member of Cox’s Landing United Methodist Church where she was an active member in the United Methodist Women Society and a graduate of Huntington East High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Adams, Sr.; two brothers, Jack Waugh and Ronald Waugh; a sister, Leois Betts; her beloved sister-in-law and best friend, Margie Waugh; a son, Gary Adams and two great-grandsons. She is survived by a brother, Charles Waugh of Point Pleasant, W.Va; a sister, Judy (Bill) Meeks of Huntington, W.Va; her sons, Edward L. Adams, Jr. (Barbara) of Barboursville, W.Va, Rick Adams (Cindy) of Huntington, W.Va. and Larry Adams of Charlotte, NC; a daughter and loving caregiver, Sue Yeager of Lexington, OH; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was known by many names, Mac, Squirt, Red, Sis, Aunt Mackie, Mother, Mom, Nan, Nanny and Grand Nanny. She lovingly answered to all, opening her heart and home to everyone. Armed with the truth, she could handle any situation. Her strength, love for God and her family has given us all a firm foundation and an example to follow. Her life was dedicated to her family as a homemaker and loving wife. In the 41 years following the loss of her husband, she has never lived alone providing a home for many family members throughout the years. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Entombment will follow on Monday at 11:00 AM at Woodmere Memorial Park, Abbey of Peace Mausoleum with Rev. Tim Dixon officiating.
