Richard Darrell “Dick” King, “A Gentle Giant of a Man”, 75 of Lesage, WV, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Darrell was born December 5, 1938 at Whites Creek, WV, the son of the late, John Franklin and Ruth Eloise King. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one son, Randy King a half brother, Alden F. King. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Sue King of Lesage, WV; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Sue Jackson (Randy) and one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Lee King (Tammy) all of Barboursville, WV; grandsons, Seth Jackson (Michelle) of Ashland, KY, Brent Jackson of New York, Corey Jackson of Huntington, WV and Jared Franklin King of Barboursville, WV; one granddaughter, Rachel Ann King of Barboursville, WV and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Elias and Suri Jackson of Ashland, KY; nephew, Kelly Noel of Huntington, WV and other nieces and nephews. Darrel was a 1956 graduate of Buffalo-Wayne High School and retired from the Herald Dispatch Newspaper after 42 years of service as a Supervisor and Camera and Plate Making. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and antique cars. The family wishes to thank all of the staff who cared for Darrell at Hospice of Huntington, St. Mary’s Home Health, Dr. Matthew Harris and the caring staff of Barboursville Internal Medicine and especially our loving church family at Olive Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, WV with Pastor Gordon Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbottom Cemetery, Greenbottom, WV. Visitation will be conducted from 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 until service time at the funeral home.
