Mary Angelita (Mary Ann) Jeffrey Hale, 87, of Huntington, WV passed away on October 31, 2023, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on October 4, 1936, in Huntington, WV, to the late Gladys and Roy Jeffrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Amanda Suzanne Hale, and her husband, Richard ‘Doc’ Hale. She is survived by a daughter, Michele Elaine Hale of Huntington, and a son Richard Jeffrey Hale (Kelly), of Lexington, KY; three granddaughters, Alexandra Hale Wong (Joshua) of Northglenn, CO; Victoria Hale Hawkins (Turner) of Louisville, KY and Catherine Hale of Chicago IL; one great grandson, Jon Wong of Northglenn, CO. She is also survived by her best friend of 77 years, Carolyn Watkeys Baylous of Smithfield, VA. Mary Ann graduated from Barboursville High School where she was Salutatorian of her graduating class. She attended Century College of Commerce in Huntington, Marshall College in Huntington and Yuba City College in California. She retired from River Valley Child Development Services of Huntington, WV. She was a life-long member of Barboursville Baptist Church where she had been the Church Pianist, Baptist Youth Ministry Leader, Choir Member and was active on numerous committees throughout the church. She was active with the Jaycees in Picayune, MS. She was a Life Member of the West Virginia 4-H All Stars. She was a volunteer at Barboursville Middle School helping where she was needed. Services will be handled by Henson Kitchen Mortuary and Cremation Services, 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near Barboursville on Saturday, November 18, 2023, with visitation from 11 am to 12 pm, and funeral service at 12 pm at the mortuary followed by a graveside service at Oaklawn Cemetery. Reverend Jim Plyburn and Reverend Monty Foster will officiate the services. Pall bearers will be David Ball, Turner Hawkins, Pete Jeffrey, John May, Rusty Parsons, Homer Ransdell and Sam Ransdell. The family would like to thank the Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center staff for all their loving care of Mary Ann.
