Donita Kay (McCloud) Foster of Lavalette, WV formerly of Ceredo, WV, celebrated her 82nd Birthday by entering Heavens Gates on March 26th, 2024. She was preceded in death by our Father, Dana Gail Foster, her loving husband 0f 60 years. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Warelda (Walters) McCloud and Donald Clark McCloud, Grandparents, Harland and Ida (Maynard) Walters. She is survived by her children, Shawna (Foster) and Lee Porter of St. Albans, WV, Zane and Rhonda (Leffingwell) Foster; her sisters, Marlene (McCloud) Simmons of Springfield, MO and Katrina (McCloud) Childers of Huntington, WV. Granddaughter, Kayla (Foster) Vance of Lavallette, WV. The “Sunshine of her Life” Great-Granddaughter, Scarlett Gail Vance. Special Son, Larry (Tina) Leffingwell of Huntington, WV. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and “adopted” children who were like family who called her Momma Donita and that she loved dearly. She was a member of Expression Church. She served for over 40 years as a member of Christ Temple Church and when residing in Lewisburg, PA, she served as a member of Revival Tabernacle under the leadership of Rev. James and Jilline Bond, whom she and Dad called their children and family. She was a homemaker and held various jobs throughout the years, but her greatest titles were Mom, Grammy and Mam-Mam. As a young girl she worked for Austin’s Ice Cream, Leslies Family Restaurant and Big Bear/Harts. She was multi-talented, from sewing, crocheting, doll making and so much more. Her most accomplished talent was cake making. She made beautiful Wedding Cakes and their taste matched their beauty. Guest would bring containers to functions to make sure some of her cake made it home with them. We would like to give a heartfelt “Thank You” to Dr. Arvinder Bir, Huntington In-Home Hospice and the Staff of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their compassion and care of our mother. Pallbearers serving are: Lee Porter, Joey and Cody Foster, Brent Taylor (Nephews) and Todd Hunter (Special Family Friend). Flowers are welcome or Memorial Donations can be made to Expression Church, Christ Temple Church or Hospice of Huntington. Services will be held at Expression Church, 115 Cheshire Way, Huntington, WV, on Monday, April 1st, 2024 with Pastor Kevin West officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Henson and Kitchen Mortuary and Cremation Services 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near Barboursville are caring for the family.
