Debra Ann Bowles Rose, a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was called home to glory on June 28, 2025. Gathered around her was her family who worshipped and praised as she was escorted into the presence of God by His holy angels. Born to the late Frank E. Bowles and Mary A. Bowles of Kimball, WV. Debbie lived a life devoted to her faith, her beloved family, and her cherished WV Mountaineers. Her journey on earth was marked by unwavering devotion to Christ Temple Church, where she served as a dedicated member, working in hospitality and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and uplifting her community with her steadfast love for Jesus. Debra was preceded in death by her sisters, Janice Bowles and Retha Bowles, and her brothers, Frank Bowles Jr., Harold Bowles, Donald Bowles, Ronald Bowles, Phillip Bowles, David Bowles, and Richard Bowles. Though these earthly bonds have been broken, she now rejoices with them in the heavenly kingdom, united in eternal praise. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, survived by her devoted husband, John P. Rose III of Culloden, WV, and her daughter, Dana M. Gordon of Culloden, WV. Her son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Lisa Gordon of Forest, VA, along with her grandsons and their wives, Carlen and Charity Gordon of Lynchburg, VA, and John Michael and Caitlin Gordon of Lexington, KY., Jerry Gordon and fiancée Gabriella Olson of Forest, VA. Her granddaughter, Sophia Gordon of Lynchburg, VA, and great-granddaughters, Rosemarie and Isabella Gordon of Lynchburg, VA, were the joy of her heart and will carry forward her spirit. Also surviving is her brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Virginia Bowles of Princeton, WV, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were blessed by her deep, abiding love. A devout follower of Jesus, Debbie’s life was a testament to her unshakable faith. She loved her family with a passion that mirrored the love of Christ, gathering them often in worship and prayer. Her heart also beat for the WV Mountaineers, a source of joy that she shared with those around her. Her home was a sanctuary of faith, filled with the sounds of hymns and the warmth of fellowship, as she lived out the teachings of the Bible every day along with the amazing smells and tastes of holiday breakfast and dinners. A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at Christ Temple Church, 2400 Johnstown Road, Huntington, WV 25701, where her spirit will continue to inspire. Visitation for friends and family will begin Monday, June 30, 2025, at 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grandma’s House at Christ Temple Church 2400 Johnstown Road, Huntington, WV 25701 to support the spread of God’s word. Debbie now rests in the arms of her Savior, and we are confident that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Her life was a hymn of praise, and her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her pulmonologist, Dr. Yousef Shweihat, for faithfully shepherding her through the last 11 years with compassion and expertise, reflecting God’s healing grace in her life. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8).
